The Lady or the Tiger?

At the end of the story the The Lady or The Tiger the King's daughter is in love with a guy in the lower class. The King finds out about the secret relationship and put the man in the arena where he had two doors to pick from. One door, had a beautiful woman, which he'd marry and live happy. In the other door, was a hungry tiger, he'd eat him. The king's daughter not only knew which door had the tiger or the lady she also knew the lady. Her lover knew she knew, he looked at her, his eyes asking "Which one?" She motioned to the right. Which one was behind the one she picked, The lady or the tiger? Some people may say it was the tiger, because she knew the lady

She knew he knew who the women was too, she had seen them talk and maybe even share a laugh or two. The lady behind the left door, she also felt, she was attracted to her man too, she felt like he felt the same way about her too, and on top of that she was beautiful. To see his face light up when he opened the door would kill her. She's jealous of the girl behind the left door.

Another reason I think she picked the tiger is because, she wanted him to live, but , not with someone else. She loved him and she couldn't handle seeing him love someone else. It's almost like if she couldn't have him, no one could, he might as well be dead . To her there would be no point in him living.

Furthermore I think it's the tiger is, the couldn't be together anyway. Regardless if he lived or died. Either way they can't be together, what's the point in her being sad her whole life because he's with someone else. Wouldn't it be better if she could just see him in the afterlife waiting for her? Instead of him being with someone else. If he dies, she'd still be with him in the afterlife and he'd still be hers. She'd never have to see him love someone else the way he loved

Morals and lessons are very hard to instill in one’s mind, especially a stubborn one. The people of the past, however, had found the way to do it. Stories and fairytales, though also used for entertainment, were mainly used to teach lessons to the young. Every tale once analyzed is seen to be formed through certain structures that include Propp Theory among others. As a result, many of the tales told in similar time periods contain the same morals and societies rules and beliefs.…

Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont originally wrote “Beauty and the Beast”, a famous fairy-tale in 1756. It tells the story of Beauty, an admirable and “handsome” girl, who ends up in the palace of a Beast where she falls in love with him after he catches Beauty’s father stealing his roses to give to Beauty. Since then, Angela Carter, who is known for her rewrites of old fairy tales, wrote “The Tiger’s Bride”, which was published in 1979. Her version provides a unique twist on the original tale, where Beauty is a young girl whose father is addicted to gambling, and ends up losing in a game of cards with the Beast. As a result, she is given up to the Beast.…

Alea Criscitelli LA Comparative Essay “Riding The Tiger” By,Eve Bunting has taught me that when you are doing bad things and you want to get off but you are addicted listen to anyone and tell them because they can help. I can prove this because in the story Danny wanted to get off and when the tiger and Danny want to the basketball court Freddy was there and asked Danny if he wanted to play a game of basketball on the court because when he got off of the tiger they would of ran and fleet away from the tiger and so that the tiger wouldn’t get them both. Fredy would’ve done whatever it takes to get Danny away from the tiger because Freddy and everyone knew that the tiger was bad but the person on the tiger doesn’t know that the tiger is bad.…

When you think of the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, what do you remember? In the typical plot of Beauty and the Beast, Beauty aids the Beast in his transformation from beast to man. The focus of the typical storyline is the battle between innate traits and characteristics accepted by society. However, in Angela Carter’s post-modern rendition, Tiger’s Bride, not only does she shift the focus to explore the relationship between love and self-acceptance, but she also changes the plot in efforts to make Beauty undergo a transformation. Through Carter’s tone, exploration of power dynamics, and use of imagery, the story follows the progression of the love and self-acceptance that influences Beauty’s metamorphosis.…
