The Lady Antebellum Pavilion: Case Study

The Lady Antebellum Pavilion was packed with over 5,000 attendees of New Life Church’s annual fall festival, Gobble Fest, on Saturday, Nov. 18.
New Life began having a fall festival several years ago, but this, by far, was the church’s most highly attended fall festival. There were numerous food vendors, a ferris wheel, inflatables and a turkey giveaway, complete with a live DJ.
“It’s something that our Pastors, Bryan and Rhonda Matthews, started to reach out to the community,” said Faith Dixon, coordinator of the Gobble Fest. “It’s really in our pastors’ heart to promote family and fun.”
Members of New Life Church feel this is their most favorite event of the year.
“I have a three-year-old here and a two-week-old at home, so to get out and be able to find people their age to play with is really important,” said Carolyn Stewart, member of New Life.

Majority of the attendees, however, learned about this event from social media.
“We purchased both a Facebook and an Instagram ad,” Dixon said. “Just in our first week of posting we reached 30,000 people.”
There were also advertisements on radio stations and community calendars, which are free, Dixon said. The name of the event may have been the cause of the high attendance.
“We usually call it our fall carnival, but this year we wanted to do something different to draw more attention to our event after all of the other churches have already had theirs,” Dixon said. “We were just kidding around one day and said lets call it the Gobble Fest just because we noticed it’s the weekend before Thanksgiving. So from here on out that’s what we will call
