Sleep deprivation has an undeniable and egregious effect on both the physical and mental well being of the public on both individual and societal levels. And while it can be continually ignored and repressed with espresso shots until the coffee bean goes extinct, the healthy option would be to deal with the source of the problem. The government has acknowledged that the sleep situation in America is a health concern; as such, it is the patriotic obligation of Americans to do their part and take action. Admittedly, the six hour work day is not an entirely proven system as of yet; there have not been a great number of recorded trials and it could end up costing some money at first. However, America has always innovated and improved on the ideas of its friends to the East, and in the long run it could make companies more successful while preserving the wellness of its employees.
