The United States during World War II had been island chasing the Japanese back to their home Island. Before the War was even over the Leaders from Russia, Untied States and Great Britain had several meetings on how to deal with the post war world the one of these such meeting was called Tehran Conference. At this conference much of the post war world was divided between Russia, Britain and the United States to be occupied. According to the book “Give me Liberty “Russia was land border were restored to pre World War I locations and in return Russia would declare war on Japan. Later in a difference conferences Germany and Korea would be split up. According to the website Americaintkoreanwr.com in February 1945 Stalin and Roosevelt agreed after the Japanese had been defeated the Korean Peninsula would be control in a trusteeship. Above the 38th parallel the Soviet would be under their control and the United States would control the southern half of Korea. The Soviet Union would install a pro Communist Government and the United States would install a military lead government that was directly supported by the United States. According to History.com this was the first military conflict of the cold war. Shortly after the invasion from the north the United States and its President Truman request the United Nations to step in and repel the invasion. At the time of the vote the Soviet Union was boycotting the United Nation Security Council because it did not recognize the new government of China “The Peoples Republic of China”. The new Chinese government where communist as well just like the Soviet Union and North Korea, as a result of the Soviet boycott of the Security Council the Soviet did not have a chance to veto the vote on the reaction force to the invasion. The Soviet Union and three other nations are permit member of the security council and can veto such actions, the other three permit member in 1950 are France, Great Britain and the United States. China Would is added as a permit member in 1971, making it the fifth permit member. The United Nations would end up siding with the United States and General MacArthur and along with 16 other nations sent troops to South Korea. Within weeks of the North Korean Invasion the North Korean army pushed the United Nation Forces back to a patch of land known as the Pusan Perimeter and the UN forces were almost defeat but were able to hold out until reinforcement could show
