The Knight rider car was first introduced in the 1980 television show name “Knight Rider (1982 TV series)”. In “Knight Rider (1982 TV series)”, David Hasselhoff plays as Michael Knight, who is a high-tech crime fighter. Michael Knight uses a high-tech car with KITT built into it. KITT is short for Knight Industries Two Thousand, which is a built-in computer with artificial intelligence who assist Michael Knight.
When the Knight Rider car that was used in the TV series was a customized 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am sports car. It costed over $100,000 US dollars to customize it into the Knight Rider.
