Within the story there is the knight that is very arrogant in his ways and feels he is above it all including the law of the land . As he stands in front of the queen and the people he tells them that woman most desire to have control over their husband and to be equal in every aspect . The queen and the people agree with what he has too say and does not have to die . But as he takes all the credit the old lady that told him the answer tells the queen that she gave him the answer , and that he must marry her for doing so . He rejects her offering by calling her bad names and shaming her but she reminds him that he agreed to do whatever she asks of him if she gives him the answer to his problems. Realizing what he has done the knight is in complete shock but must marry her . By marrying the old woman , she brings him to realize that beauty is not everything that what is on the inside is just as important if not more . By realizing what she saying and coming to his realization that she is right the elderly hideous looking woman transforms. She transforms into a beautiful woman that is right for the knight, she shall never cheat or leave him and they shay love each other deeply. This foreshadows the moral and theme of the story.

By giving the knight a second chance he realizes that he could change and become a better man . You take what you learn the first time whether it was good or bad and use it to help you better yourself the second time around .
