The Knife In Possession Of Jack's Power

In the first section of the book, the knife in possession of Jack holds a larger meaning. The power that Jack, gets by having the knife is one that a dictator would hold. I believe that since Jack welds the knife he has gained a power over the boys by using fear. In the quote, Jack unsheathed this knife “and slammed it into a tree trunk.” If you were to associate knife the with power the quote would mean that Jack slammed his power into a tree. This shows that with his power is unstable which could become a problem later in the story.

Prediction
In the next reading section I think that we will see Jack become more and more aggressive. This will lead into a battle between Ralph and Jack for supreme power. Finally to solve the issue I believe
