The Kite Runner Research Paper

Friends, are something that most kids start to make at a young age and stay friends all through their life. Khaled Hosseini's novel The Kite Runner shows the definite friendship between many characters as the world around them continues to revolve, with both good and bad happenings. The characters experienced struggling challenges that question their friendship. Two friends, Amir and Hassan, have differences and similarities that show how true friendship stands through whatever hardships may happen. As the friendship blossoms the differences between Amir and Hassan become more advanced. One of the more major differences to Amir and Hassan is their social class. Amir is a Pashtun, or a more wealthier person of Afghanistan. Amir has always been known because of his father, and his fathers work. Amir struggles to make the right decisions regarding wether or not he should continue his friendship with Hassan. As Amir thought to himself "I never thought of Hassan and me as friends" (25). Amir takes in to account how he would be affect by the friendship that Hassan and Amir have. Hassan is a Hazzara, and happens to be Amir's Family servant. Amir and Hassan have always been similar in there likes and dislikes. They both have always loved flying kites. Hosseini uses the symbolism of the kite to show how the friendship has grown between the boys. Amir will always remember the time when Hassan said " For you a thousand times over" (67). Hassan has always considered Amir a friend. Hosseini used the part of the book where Amir is kite running with Sohrab to show how Hassan has always been there for Amir.
