An example of power in “The Kite Runner” was when Assef raped Hassen. Hassen is a very innocent little boy, but Assef took his innocence from him. This is an example of power because rape is used to hurt someone it is not a sexual act, it is a dominance of power. Assefs goal was to harass Hassen, and dominate him. Another way that power was abused in this situation was when Amir was watching all of this happen. Amir had the power to say something, or go and get Baba or Ali. He chose to abuse his power by not doing anything and by being a bystander. I think that the situation would have been completely different if Amir had done something, yet I think if Amir had stepped into the situation the same thing could've happened to him. If Amir had
