and Saudi Arabia has lasted for 70 years forging a great friendship and alliance. The United States, began its relationship with the Arabs through the oil industry and then via government contracts, this then established a relationship with Saudi Arabia 's founder, King Abdulaziz. “U.S. businesses have been involved in Saudi Arabia 's oil industry since 1933” (CFR,2). Due to America establishing a safe and trustworthy relationship with Saudi Arabia we believe that it would benefit Arklan to further expand its company in the east.

The history
“President Franklin D. Roosevelt 's meeting with King Abdulaziz aboard the USS Murphy in Egypt in 1945 solidified the relationship” (CFR,3). According to (Brown Rachel, 4) “Saudi Arabia was originally neutral during World War II, but allowed Allies to use its airspace” Therefore furthering our relationship politically. I hope that you have found the report useful and essential for the expansion of Arklan. By compiling all of this information about Saudi Arabia I believe that we can make a clear and concise decision whether to do business with this country or not.

Furthermore, being aware of the religion and customs that Saudi Arabia abides by would bring joy, appreciation and satisfaction to the Saudi’s. Becoming respectful and knowing their customs before engaging in business would be the perfect start to ensure our success.

Also, America’s strong alliance both politically and economically creates a great platform to expand our company. Expanding our company will give us more consumers and a great opportunity to gain more profit.

By analyzing the strategy provided Arklan can build and develop a strong relationship. Furthermore, depending on our success in the middle east we can then provide our agricultural goods to neighboring countries.

Saudi Arabia is a country of wonder, wealth, beauty and an opportunity to make Arklan the most successful Agricultural company in America and eventually then world.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sowing Crisis explains how the Cold war and policies taken by the U.S. have spilled over into today and how it has affected modern U.S. relations with the Middle East. Rashid Khalidi feels that wartime and postwar moves in North Africa and Iran, as well as U.S. air bases in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Morocco, and Turkey, marked the beginning of “an American role as the major Middle Eastern Power, a reality that was masked for a time by the power and proximity to the region of the USSR (Page 9).” Khalidi believes that since the end of the cold war the U.S’s interest in the Middle East has grown greater and greater, like the Gulf war of 1991, and the Oslo accords in 1993. He closes the opening chapter by asking how the U.S. got itself into this situation…
