As a child, I worshipped the invincible heroes in movies who got whatever they wanted, and I aspired to be like them. Although in real life, their clever and well thought out schemes would not be easy to implement or even devise, simply presenting an effective argument may be enough to manipulate an audience. To do so, the author must consider maintaining a connection with the audience, who may potentially disapprove of the argument or even find it offensive. To begin an argument, one can use a humble and frank tone towards the audience to state his purpose. He should take care not to use extreme or harsh diction or immediately present radical ideas.…

Jones’ came from a good family that had not always had money because his mother came from a family of sharecroppers and worked hard through a life of poverty to become a prominent radiologist. This section about Prince really struck a cord because of the continual assertion that cops who are meant to protect us are the ones causing the most harm. How it only takes one racist act which is a continual reality in the world we currently live where every day means we are going to be faced with a video of a cop killing someone and how there is no way a body can actually be safe. World War One was a catastrophic event that involved almost all of the major powers of the twentieth century. When looking at the causes of this major world event one might believe that the sole cause of the war was the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary (The DBQ Project, Background Essay). There is reason to believe that the causes of the war had a more lasting effect and were more broader subjects than the assassination of just one man. World War One also called The Great War had four main underlying causes, imperialism, nationalism, alliance systems, and a want for war. More than a century later in todays’ time, we still remember the Emancipation Proclamation which freed all Blacks from the bonds of slavery. The misconception and error that many people are misguided to believe in present day is that the sole reason the Civil War was fought was due to slavery- more specifically, the Emancipation. Although a leading factor, after reading WHAT THEY FOUGHT FOR by James M. McPherson we come across the underlying fact that most Union soldiers who enlisted had not even the faintest thought of freeing black slaves until the middle and/or near end of the war. Causes of WW1 Many believe that the sole cause of the First World War was nationalism.
