It is God’s desire for us to become whole in life. In the book Keys for Living Single, the late Dr. Myles Munroe says, “until you are a separate, single, unique and a whole person, you are not ready to marry.” The process of becoming whole starts once you establish a relationship with God. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, Wholeness is defined as the condition of being sound in body and the quality or state of being without restriction, exception or qualifications. The Biblical definition of wholeness is the state of being perfectly well in body, soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit. It is very important for you to recognize for yourself that wholeness doesn’t exist outside of God. We are broken with missing pieces when we attempt to live independent of God. We are only complete in Christ. The book of Colossians states that “in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority” (Col.2.9-10). God’s will for our lives is to become more Christ-like. He wants us to be conformed into the image of his Son (Rom.8.29). Marriage is not God’s ultimate will for our lives. Now, I’m not saying that marriage is not a part of his plan for your life, but I do know that marriage is not the ultimate goal. We must realize that we will never find total fulfillment in another human being. We were built to need and depend on God. We need to seek fulfillment in God.…
