Language is the molding clay, it can personalize a view more than any other form of communication. It is the foundation of self expression and the tool to countless opportunities. When an individual speaks fluently they are granted the ability to vocalize their thoughts, messages, feelings and basic information. It is a manipulator that leads us to gain some momentum in our lives and increase our optimism. Language can broaden your horizon in an intellectual manner, it can also have a dramatic affect on the people you communicate with. Language gives to you opportunity to share potential ideas to an audience or simply use your voice to advocate. Being able to express yourself intelligently and fluently is not only a vital role in a meaningful life but the key importance to personal empowerment.
Many successful leaders use their language in order to empower themselves and the public. Malcolm X, a person who some would call a fire brand, used language to motivate many to support his cause, even decades after his death. Although learning to speak articulately was a struggle for Malcolm, he endured his inabilities of self expression to change himself. In “Coming to an Awareness of Language,” Malcolm X says, ”I became increasingly frustrated at not being able to express what I wanted to convey in letters that I wrote, especially those to Mr. Elijah Muhammad.
