In general, critical thinking is not an easy task and we must be trained in this areas become successful. Therefore, we learned in our assignment that critical thinking is defined as the discipline art ensuring that you use the best thinking you are capable of in any set of circumstances (Elder, L. & Paul, R., 2004, para. 1). In this assignment, I’ll reflect on where I used the 4 key components which are Clarify your thinking, stick to the point, Question questions, and being reasonable. For example, I was a Navy Recruiter from 2004 to 2007 and I was station at Fort Bragg, NC and I had an individual who had signed up to join the United States Navy in May 2005 and he was schedule to go to Navy basic training in November 2005. & Paul, R., 2004, para. 2). In reality, I was proceeding to step 3 which is to be on the lookout for more off the wall questions. I started focusing on the questions I was asking so, I can look beneath the surface and start paying attention to the question they’re asking (Elder, L. & Paul, R., 2004, para. 3). In general, the question about his potential wife was irrelevant because their questions do not solve this problem and help them to make a better decision in the end of our conversation (Elder, L. & Paul, R., 2004, para. 3). So, as time pass, I notice she leaned forward during our conversation so, I knew she was paying attention and was looking for me to make a mistake so, I would ask for clarification before I would answer the question (Elder, L. & Paul, R., 2004, para. 3).
In short, as the conversation was coming to an end, I caught myself getting frustrated and I was beginning to unwilling listening to their views because I was already in the military so, my answers are all right and their answers were wrong (Elder, L. & Paul, R., 2004, para. 4). I realize in other to solve this situation that we need to be reasonable and I needed to think to see if their views have any merit so, I press forward and broke down my defensiveness in which I was able to hear what they were saying Elder, L. & Paul, R., 2004, para.

Allow me to explain. In the beginning of my essay, I discussed how healing occurs through writing (Nash's point). I did this by sharing my dilemma of feeling conflicted between two different priorities: romance and school. My first perspective was self-reflective, because writing allowed for my brain’s thinking to slow down and process my point of view.…

In the first perspective it explains that you, as a person should focus on self improvement and become more self reliant. I honestly think as an opinion you would need to keep boosting people's spirits instead of being self centered because you don't want to make them feel good. Everyone has their own traits, personality, and characteristics, but if you don't care about other people, it shows you that you are careless about the good people on this earth. A strength of the first perspective is that you can get things accomplished and succeed in goals in your lifetime.…

Critical thinking can be defined in the dictionary as a disciplined thinking that is clear, rational, open minded, and informed by evidence. When I imagine a scenario in my life that involved critical thinking I go back to the time when I wasn’t sure if I would be able to attend college. During the last few months of my high school career I had applied for college and the financial aid I needed to attend; I was accepted and received the aid I needed. I thought I was completely prepared and ready to go but the closer it came to starting college the more uneasy I felt.…

In my quest for answers, I constantly seek the truth of things so I can understand them the best I can. I gather all the facts, and evaluate the information objectively to formuate a hypothesis, giving me the most likely truth and answer. It's what critical thinkers call "empirical reasoning". Everyday, scientists, college students and police detectives use this kind of thought process to formulate a solution or solve a crime. I ask you to read this scenario, and then I leave it to up to you to decide for yourself if critical thinking is something we all should be using a lot more of as we tip-toe through our daily lives, fearing that something we might say will offend someone.…

Linda, I've known a couple of pastors who have had the wonderful skill of being critical thinkers. It sounds like your dad had a great ability with critical thinking too. I think that a very important part of being a critical thinker is the ability to put aside one's own personal feelings in order to consider all aspects of an issue. Being able to consider all of the various details and possibilities, both positive and negative, I feel is a great talent. Also, I think just the ability that critical thinkers have of taking the necessary time to listen, and then to be able to effectively communicate their thoughts about a topic is truly a great…

Finally, this recording is of interest to me because countertransference was and is still being used in our sessions. Each time the client talks about his grandmother and how he was not able to attend her funeral, he becomes sad and immediately starts grieving. I can tell because the tone of his voice changes, his body positions and mannerisms change, as well as his train of thought. I didn’t notice it in the beginning, but each time we have a dialogue about his grandmother, his feelings of his grandmother are being projected on me and makes me realize that I have unwanted grief and a little bit of anger towards my mother, who took my grandmother off life support before I arrived at the hospital. Taking my grandmother off life support prohibited…

Most of us allow our emotions and life experiences guide us in how we perceive situations and come to conclusions on issues that arise in our life. We have come to assume that our thought process is accurate and since it is not flawed, our conclusions are right. We use this train of thought to defend our stance on matters and to choose a course of action when needed. I have done this many times and for the most part, felt comfortable with the decisions I have made. I believe in continuously striving to become a better person, and in doing so, I am realizing that my way of thinking could use some improvement.…
