Our nation wasn’t meant to be divided, yet it happened. The North & the South debated & fought over slavery for a long time before the Civil War. There was the Kansas-Nebraska Act & the Missouri Compromise. Let’s dive into these 2 topics, shall we?

First, we have the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The Kansas-Nebraska Act nullified the Missouri Compromise by allowing slavery in the Northern states. This led to Northern anti-slavery settlers & Southern settlers settling into Kansas. The result of this act was violence & bloodshed in Kansas.

Now we have the Missouri Compromise. The Missouri Compromise temporarily ended the slavery debate. But as I stated in the last paragraph, the Kansas-Nebraska Act nullified it & allowed slavery in
