It was to very peaceful music of piano and drums. Everyone in attendance was drawn in as if the holy spirit was on the stage. It was like an intoxicating display of her God blessed gift. As the performance went on, she became more animated and explosive. The drums adequately matched her new explosive tempo- a tempo that one member said was like the visual expression of the fire of the holy spirit in a person 's life as it passionately burns away the filth that 's inside,

Nettie Wild’s intellectually provocative composition, titled Uninterrupted, is a stunning representation of the essentiality and effectivity of moving images. Projected as large-scale images, the spectacle utilizes the pillars and underside of Vancouver’s Cambie Street Bridge as its film screen to exemplify the major disconnect between our city and the river habitat below. Uninterrupted- comprised of vivid illustrations and breathtaking scores composed by Owen Belton- demonstrates the impact of human existence on the complex sockeye salmon endeavor . The twenty-five minute array (which displayed nightly Tuesday through Saturday at nine o’clock, from June 28th to September 24th) focuses on these moving images within the intimate outdoor setting as the primary visual stimulation of the installation. Though two dimensional by nature, the specificity and attention to details within the installation creates the illusion that the audience is beneath the surface of the water, viewing the installation from the river bed.…

Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

Leadership on the line by Ronald A. Heifetz and Marty Linksys is a very timely book. Maggie’s description of her Indian community and the effects of alcohol made me think of many urban communities and the pain that lurks in those communities. The stories she shares about Lois and the heart she had for her community and desire to make it better make you think we need more leaders like that. Lois leadership inspired me because she saw something wrong in her community she believed she could bring change. Lois is a good picture of servanthood she doesn’t sit and think someone should so something…

On December 2nd, 2016 at the Constance theatre the dance department presented a show called Agbedidi. The show, directed and choreographed by Mohamed DaCosta and Trent D. Williams, Jr., displayed a combination of Traditional African and Contemporary Dance. The house buzzed with excitement as the start of the show approached. It is quite encouraged to see such a large audience at an event, but this audience also brought a positive, vibrant atmosphere for the dancers to soak up. I was curious to see what this year’s performance would look like.…
