There are some who think that a book is always better than the movie adaption. Then there are some who think just the opposite. The book “The Joy Luck Club” is book based on the lives of four women, Suyuan, Lindo, Ying-Ying and An mei. These women came to America to escape the harsh feudal society of China, while America has democracy. When Suyuan dies, the few members of the club invite her daughter June who is a new generation (learning American customs) to take her place. June must choose wether or not she wants to go with her traditional culture or her American one that she has come to embrace.
