Depression is a serious matter and some people overcome being depressed and having a low self esteem but others do not and these poems talk about how your life can go from being miserable to being amazing. “The Journey” by Mary Oliver talks abou the road from the bottom to the top of depression while “The laughing heart” by Charles Bukowski talks about how anyone can take control of their life no matter how bad it is going.
Charles Bukowski used repetition and diction to describe how his poem relates to life and depression without specifically mentioning life. “Clubbed into dank submission” is an example of how the author uses special words that you wouldn’t use everyday in order to make sure the reader has a deep and clear understanding of
