The Hero’s Journey Everyone will have to go through a few journeys throughout their lives. Sometimes the journey will be a lost at the end but, sometimes you will experience the hero’s journey. The hero’s journey, describes the typical adventure of the archetype known as the hero,the person who goes out and achieves great deeds on behalf of the group, tribe, or civilization, according to the writersjourney.com. During the hero’s journey you will experience five different stages but, I will only be focusing on three of those which are the departure, the innermost cave, and lastly the return and reintegration with society. I will also be talking about two of the archetypes which are shadow and the mentor The first stage of the hero’s journey I am going to talking about is the stage called departure. Departure is defined as when the hero is called to adventure, although he/she is reluctant to accept. Departure is the first stage, this would be the stage where the hero is about to experience something new or something that they have never done before. It might scare the hero a bit, and cause them to be hesitant to accept it. The journey could college, or simply being who you are. No matter what it is, the hero battles with themselves about accepting it. The hero thinks it could be too hard or challenging. After lots of thought and battling with themselves to make a decision, they decide to go along with it. The hero accepts the adventure and goes into the new dangerous world…
