I am honoured to be todays eugoogalizer you know, one who speaks at funerals…For those who knew my father, you know that I could not speak at his funeral with out referring to one of his favourite movies Zoolander.

Friends and family I want to thank you for being here today. My father leaves behind a loving wife, three daughters, five sons, and a loving sister, and seven brothers. Dad, you did it, 110 years old. Let us go on a life sketch journey of Jameson Scott Belyeu’s life. From the beginning my father had no ordinary way of doing things, this includes his birth. His mother after visiting friends in Cincinnati, she was on her way to the airport and while on a cell phone call to her friend mentioned that she was having back pains. Her friend expressed concerns that his mother was probably going into labour. She immediately headed to the hospital and 9 hours later at 5:07 am on 13th of October 1989 James was born. Two days later they were on their way back to Alabama. Five years later James’ father passed away. Because James was only 5 this didn’t really bother him that much at the time. Part of me thinks it became tougher for him as he got older and watched all of his friends have quality time with their fathers. It would explain why he was

I remember when we were kids our little sister, Katerina, was performing in a school play and our father was on business in the US and wasn’t going to make it. We were all used to our father sometimes missing things on occasion. But he never missed enough to make us feel slighted in any way. So we are sitting there and the curtains are about to open and here comes our father walking in. Katerina was thrilled to bits. Our father had taken a red eye from New York all the way back to London just to be there for the night, then flew back the following morning to work. This small but amazing gesture just shows how much our father loved and cared for

His mother gave him an emphasis on education, hard work, and church. In addition, she always encouraged him and her other children to be self-sufficient, as she had raised all of them mostly by herself. She opened the doors for James to look into his Jewish side when she revealed to him the facts of her life (McBride, pg. 269). James created his own resources, which included, staying away from the color boundary (McBride, pg. 262), expressing himself by writing books and composing/playing music (McBride, pg. 266), and by traveling (looking into his mother’s past). James background had a huge impact on his life even if he didn’t know it until later because he had been raised somewhat like his mother…

In my life, my family has tended to have some financial issues. I do not want to delve deeply into them, but I do want to say that we could use any help we can get when it comes to scholarships. Even though I do plan on attending a fairly cheap (compared to other colleges) community college. This college is NICC because I heard that it has a nice engineering program and that is what I plan on doing when I am older. I think that a nice and cheap community college would still produce problems in my families income which is why I think that any scholarships would benefit greatly.…

Robert Hayden’s “Those Winter Sundays” is touching, but also sad. The feeling of regret is a tough emotion to carry. The father, however, did not need any thanks. While it may have been a nice gesture and I am sure he would have appreciated it, he did not do it for the thanks. He did it because of the unconditional love that a parent has for their child.…

Baba’s Eulogy Good evening ladies and gentleman, thank you for joining me in commemorating, mourning, and celebrating the death of my father today. It is no surprise that so many of you are here right now as it’s Baba’s selfless love and righteous behaviour that has left an impact on us. Even being deceased, Baba has the ability to unite people. My personal Michigan hero is my father. For this essay I chose my father because all my life I have looked up to him, even when I was too young to realize it, because my dad has guided me through life, teaching me valuable life lessons and will always be there for me and my family. My dad has changed so much in his life for my brother and I, spent hours for a day for years raising us to be the people we are today and I could never repay that. At a young age my father’s parents divorced, and he did not see his real father often because he was in the Coast Guard. He then vowed at a young age, and then to his future wife(my mother) that he would never divorce and do that if he had children.…

Oral History Interview Project Oral history is the oldest type of historical inquiry, and one of the most modern. It is a field of study and a method of gathering, preserving, and interpreting the voices and memories of people, communities, and participants in past events. (Oral history association, 2012) So basically there is an interviewer asking an interviewee about his experiences in his life, and the interview can serve for many purposes. For this project, the interview was for us to see how aging truly affects someone and there’s no better way to do that than to interview someone who has experienced life already.…

Throughout my early childhood, I was faced with adversity which resulted in critical learning experiences shaping me into the person I am today. Growing up, my family had just enough money to get by. We resided in a townhome with 3 bedrooms along with 12 other family members. The townhome was connected to a convenient store that was owned and operated by my family. My brother and I didn’t always get everything we asked for but our parents never gave up on giving us a more enriching childhood than what they had been given.…

There was only one word on my mind and it was DAD. I screamed hysterically and cried in the bathroom, screaming for my dad. Nothing was the same if he did not come to my birthday. I decided to write about my relationship with my dad in this post because Father’s Day just passed and because I’ve already made a post about the incredible bond I have with my dad. In that post I mentioned that he was away in Korea when I was born and I didn’t get to see him until I was 7 months old. My mother, who was only 22 at the time, had a lot of responsibility taking care of the three of us who were all under 3 years old. When my dad came home he took over the caregiving duties for me completely because he wanted to make sure he bonded with me. There was a solid attachment built between the two of us at that time that has been tested over time but never frayed.…

Alzheimer’s, a medical diagnosis for what some ignorantly see as simply getting old, is a terrifying reality for many families. I’m used to hearing people complain of “old timer’s” when they forget something, or joking about an elderly teacher who’s worked here forever having it, but little do people know, alzheimer’s is a reality I deal with every day when I step foot in my house. I’ve never had what most would consider a normal family. I began my life living with my mom and my grandparents, as my mom was a single parent. That, to my dismay, changed when I was two years old and my mother got married.…
