The Joker

The narrative of the film centres around crime between the protagonist; Batman/Bruce Wayne and the antagonist; The Joker. The genre of the film is a crime thriller. Christopher Nolan, the director of the batman trilogy make uses of variety of film techniques in the dark knight to create scenes of order and absolute chaos. Christopher uses a variety of camera angles, sounds effect and special effects to depict his scenes between order and chaos.

When creating a scene of order the director uses several wide variety of close ups and different camera angles to show the expressions of the actors, to demonstrate that the scene is controlled creating an presence of order and stability, the changes between camera shots are few. Whereas when there is a scene of chaos like fighting scenes, batman trying to get information from the joker in the jail or even the several car chase scenes, to make the scene more orderless Christopher Nolan the director changes the shots to different perspective to build up the suspense, to make the …show more content…
While the director trying to show or create a scene of order and stability he used music that was relaxing making the audience or viewers feel comfortable, safe and secure, however where there was chaos or tension build up to chaos there would be change in the music that would make the audience anxious or tense. Example of these techniques are presented in scenes of high tension such as the beginning of the movie, when non diegetic music is being played in the background. The ambient music is very tense which signifies the rise of high tension meaning something is about to transpire. Furthermore the sounds used is not necessary made to cause tension and make the audience feel anxious, there are example like during the club fighting scene where the club music is played in the background to represent chaos of the
