Charles was born in Tylertown, Mississippi in January of 1943. His mother died when he was about eleven years old, and his father died when Charles was about twenty-four years old. Charles lived in Covington, Louisiana when his daughter, the mother of Brandon, was born. He was around the age of 22. He worked on the interiors of steam ships on the Mississippi River as well as other ships and eventually became the supervisor of the work done at the shipyard. He married Velma Lee Bedwell in 1937, when he was twenty years old, and his son was born in 1943 when he was twenty five. Charles Hiram died in 1967, when he was about 49 years old in Prentiss, Mississippi. He served in WWII, and worked on a farm when he was younger during the Boll Weevil Infestation in the South.
Velma Lee Bedwell is the first wife of Charles Hiram Jackson and the great grandmother of Brandon Revels. Velma Lee Bedwell was born in June of 1916, in New Hope, Mississippi. She married Charles Hiram Jackson in December of 1937 when she was twenty one years old. She gave birth to Charles Gilbert Jackson in 1943, when she was twenty six years old.
