The information I used for this research paper largely came from the UMUC student library, with additional online sources from historical themed websites, along with official military theses on the actual implementation of African-American soldiers into official roles in combat action. However, many of the references were found using several different key words or phrases such as, “Effects of the Italian Campaign”, “The Italian Campaign”, “92nd Infantry Division”, and “Buffalo Soldiers”. While examining research sources I was able to conclude three paramount things. One, the Italian campaign made it possible for the Allies to proceed with executing Operation Overlord after the removal of thousands of German troops from the eastern European front to the Italian peninsula. Additionally, the campaign removed a world power out of the second world war and even provided an opportunity of the Kingdom of Italy to seek redemption in becoming a co-belligerent. Lastly, the Italian Campaign fostered a magnificent opportunity for African-American soldiers to participate in combat for the first time in the modern
