New Jersey is the greatest state in America. This has nothing to do with the fact that I have lived in New Jersey my whole life; I make this claim strictly with objectivity and fact based arguments. The diverse, and densely populated state is home to a bevy of attractive and titillating features. Historically, culturally, scenically, New Jersey is without equal. Conventional wisdom of New Jersey’s ails are not grounded in reality. New Jersey is called “The Garden State” for a reason, as despite popular belief, the state is more than just highways. New Jersey has everything you would want in a state and more. Many of the greatest Americans ever are from our boundaries. Our cuisine is renowned and unlike any other. Landmarks of television and film have been set here. From the shores, to the mountains and hills, the varied landscape offers picturesque scenes for all to witness. The reputation that Jersey has for being dirty, and inhabited by “scum” could not be further from the truth. “Jerseyites” are the pinnacle of what it means to be an American; and New Jersey is the best part of America. People love to bash on New Jersey for a multitude of reasons, but many of them are baseless. First of all, we do not say “Joisey” so stop saying that. Most of New Jersey does not smell, though there are some exceptions. The Pine Barrens make up 22% of our area, and that smells like “naturey” goodness. Also I’ll take the smell of a fresh bagel, hot pizza, or salty beach, over the marijuana haze of California, or industrial smog of New York any day of the year.
