Just because you have a smart phone, doesn’t mean it’s smart to text while driving. Is it really that important, to put your life and the lives of others in danger; for a text that can wait. Texting has caused numerous people to be injured, or die in an accident. The issue should not be whether to outlaw it, but to enforce NO TEXTING WHILE DRIVING strongly. Why does people text and drive? Many researchers have been asking this question. Research shows that half of America has an obsession with socializing, and keeping up with the latest gossip.

Are they leading a good example for their kids? By doing what they say they shouldn’t do. When a person engages in replying to a text message while driving, it’s almost impossible to look at both the cellphone screen, and the road, therefore they focus on sending the message, which can result in swerving into the lane next to you resulting in a car crash, also in order to reply to a text, you have to at least take one hand off the wheel of the car, which takes half of your control off the wheel, resulting again in you swerving or even worse for not only you but maybe the passenger in your car, or the car next to you.Some people differ, on the opinion that texting while driving is worse than drinking while drinking.
They believe drinking and driving is more fatal then texting while driving, their wrong! Driving a vehicle is six times more dangerous than driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to (NHTSA) sending a text message is like drinking four beers. More than 3,000 teens die annually from texting while driving vs. 2,700 die from driving under the influence. Drinking while driving is dangerous.
