Every town in the world, whether small or large, contains different problems that need attention. In the United States, a number of states experience the issue of teenage marijuana use, which leads to cities experiencing the problem as well. If teenage marijuana use does not receive the appropriate attention it could harm teenager’s health, families, friends, and possibly harm innocent people in the community. In my hometown of Hardinsburg, Kentucky teenagers who use marijuana damage many families, their friends, and innocent people. Luckily, people in my community strive to eliminate teenage marijuana use. People like city and county police, social worker, principals, and our local coalition for change. He would smoke it before games and before practice. He said it helped him focus and play better, but many times his lack of reaction and awareness hurt us. We led in the first round of our district tournament by three runs. Our starting pitcher got tired, so my coach brought in my friend to pitch in the last inning and end the game. My friend pitched against Louisville Ballard earlier that year, who ranked fourth in the state at the time, but we left school before classes were over, so he did not smoke marijuana before the game. We won that game because he gave up zero runs to the fourth ranked team in the state. During districts he smoked marijuana before that game and once he got on the pitching rubber it went downhill. Many schools already established anti-tobacco use policies that seem to work, if enforced correctly. “Comprehensive policies that lack enforcement may be unable to reach their goal of protecting children” (Adams 18). “Consistent enforcement related to prevalence of daily and weekly smoking in secondary schools in Wales and lower levels of perceived smoking among Scottish students” (Adams 18). As you can see enforcing effective policies on drug use during school works, if schools will enforce the policy consistently and
