Have you ever seen a person on the street and you think to yourself that they are weird and i'm gonna stay away from them? If you say no, you're lying. We all know that stereotyping has been around since we can remember.. But where did it come from? We all think its from being human and there isn't really a way to stop it. Even if it's something that we can't stop, we can not take action upon that. Think about a time when you were judged.. What was that? Who said that or did something on that idea? How did that make you feel? Now place yourself as an african american teen going to a mostly caucasian school who newly transferred from Detroit . What do you think will start to happen once word gets out that there is a new kid? You have no idea why they are in your school and you don't even know their name. Picture what you believe they look like. Now think about what their name is. Did you think of something like tyrone, dante or alysha? If so, That is the very base of stereotyping. Here is a picture of the new student. His name is Connor, he is all advanced classes, and moved here because he got a scholarship for academics. …show more content…
It's still present apart from race. People are stereotyped from the clothes they wear to how tall they are. How many of you would see a tall person and think they would play basketball? Or a short person and think they do gymnastics? How many of you say something to someone about those thoughts? How many of you think that is stereotyping? How many of you think that stereotyping is dangerous? (number of suicides) of (teens) commit suicide because they were bullied upon that stereotype and no one did anything about
