It does not matter what one believes about gay marriage, no one can ignore the enormous progress it has achieved in the past few years. However, this does not mean that all of the problems are solved. Many people still harass and hate all LGBT people while some simply tolerate them, but do not want the “homosexual agenda rubbed in their face”. Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion about marriage equality, but when the law does not allow homosexuals to have the exact same rights to marriage and their partner as heterosexuals do, then it is in fact, oppression. I will admit, this scientific-minded argument sounds logical, yet it does have some fallacy. I assume that because homosexual couples cannot produce children, natural selection sees them as “unfit”. First of all, the human population has billions of people and is essentially only growing, so homosexual marriages are not really a factor in this case. Second of all, gay marriage is legal in mostly developed countries, whose inhabitants have relatively comfortable lives, making natural selection also a non-issue.
