Gun violence has been a concern of mine ever since Sandy Hook. Even though there were other tragedies prior to that incident, Sandy Hook took place when I was in high school. I was at the age where I fully understood what happened. My school started teaching/informing us about safety procedures if something like this were to happen. I distinctly remember that day, innocent lives were lost. I never thought much about the issue of gun violence but when that specific tragedy happened my views on guns surfaced. I don’t support violence of any kind. I never have and never will. Once doing the research on this topic, I feel it gave me greater insight as to why people still after all our country has been through still chooses to favor their guns
