Gun control is a controversial topic to be talked about considering the pros and cons that come along with it. The pros being the control of having a gun in order to have a sense of protection, our right to bear arms and less death rates. On the other side cons being restricting a person to their own personal safety and diminishing personal hobbies such as hunting, and job related activities by not having guns being allowed at all. Guns come with responsibility and consequences that can occur if guns are put in the wrong hands such as school shootings, toddler shootings, also including suicide and death. There should be limitations like the types of guns to not just any gun, but just handguns allowed to be bought, who can buy them and by changing the definition of the second amendment. As it is said in the second amendment, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. This is a right that has been given to us to protect individual ownership. Although this traditional amendment has been around since 1789, changes like the definition for it should be redefined to well fit our needs today. As political writer Chris Walker says and I myself agree the amendment should be changed to, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to responsibly keep and bear Arms necessary for their protection shall not be infringed.” Guns…
