How does a person live and survive without a gun? In the founding centuries of America, people survived by killing animals with weapons for food. If there was no creation of a gun then it would have set American ancestor back. According to the article, America has carried on the tradition of owning a gun because an article states that there are 88.8 guns per 100 people and there is a total of 270,000,000 guns in the U.S., which is the most per capita in the world. Also 22% of Americans own one or more guns (Gun Control). The 2nd amendment was created for a reason and that was for American citizens to have the right to bear arms. It was put as an amendment because it is a right that the people of America have.

The best solution would have to be having more thorough and frequent background checks. This means that this person’s history would be checked and annually they would checked to make sure that the background information was still clear and clean. One person stated that, “background checks will help keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have them” (Gun Control Pros & Cons…). People that want gun control might say that these background checks would not be enough to stop all the shootings, but it is almost the middle of the debate. He has tried to pass the gun control law twice and it didn’t work both times, so this means that there were not enough people that wanted to have a gun control law passed and the main reason for that is that a lot of Americans have guns and enjoy to know that they are always for the most part safe.
