Approximately 40% of the world 's land surface is used for the purpose of keeping all 7 billion of us to feed. The majority is not only to raise crops, vegetables but to support the pigs, chickens, and cows that we eventually eat (Walsh, 2013). You can get environmental pollution with raising animals for food. It is the biggest polluter of surface water and our land (PETA). Factory farm animal wastes pollute the soil and make the groundwater terrible. According to Dr. Rasby (2012), cows can drink water daily vary from 3 to 30 gallons per day depending on age, weight, stage of production and the environment. Also on PETA.org, they can drink up to 50 gallons of water per day or twice the amount in hot weather. To produce 1 pound of beef, we need more than 2,400 gallons of water, but producing 1 pound of tofu only requires 244 gallons of water. It takes almost 20 times less land to feed someone on a vegan diet than it does to feed a meat-eater since the crops are consumed directly instead of being used to feed animals. It can affect the life of others animal living in the forest since we need land to raise our

In Queensland alone, 3000-7000 sq km of native woodland are cleared every year, largely to improve cattle pastures. According to the Australian Bureau of statistics, 58% of our land is used for agriculture and principally for grazing animals and the production of crops used in animal feed. That is over half of our 7.7 million sq km that we have. Which means that almost 4 million sq km of land are being used so that we can slaughter and consume animals. This strong demand to farm animals for their meat is not also destroying our land at an alarming rate but is causing our greenhouse gas levels to skyrocket.…

I have always believed that eating meat can be okay, until i realized the bad consequences. I agree that eating meat is ethical, if is peppered properly because my experience becoming a vegetarian, and knowing the raising process confirms it. “Is there an ethical distinction between the deaths caused by a yeoman farmer who grimly butchers a hog in the fall and a minimum-wage factory worker who mechanically butchers six thousand in a morning?” (Schwennesen 179).…
