Argument Against ISIS

In 1945, two nuclear bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the sole purpose of defeating Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany. At the time, this was imperative, considering all the lives they took in order to fulfill their purpose of purging those who were not part of the “Master Race”. Nowadays, we see the genocide that occurred during the Holocaust as something that you read only in books. It is hard to comprehend that this actually happened. Yet, what we don’t realize is that it is happening again. The Islamic State or ISIS, as many people call it, are committing atrocities like those that have not been seen since World War II. They are also doing it for the purpose of purging, only that this time they are not targeting only Jews but …show more content…
The Islamic State is considered a “jihadi-salafi” group. They have an extremely literalist interpretation of the Quran, so they use violent methods to correct the division that has occurred among Muslims. They believe that the only way to solve the issues they are confronting is by going back to the practices of the Early Islam and making strict interpretation of the Quran and the words of the Prophet Muhammad (Johnsen 2016:16). It is under this reasoning that ISIS is bringing back the horrors that go back to the Early Islam that even emulate those practices also used in Medieval times. Some of this practices include kidnapping, which often conclude in appalling displays of executions that end up in social media after ransom are not paid. Other threats against humanity also include their support on slavery, especially the one involving women and their raping. Their destruction of cultural heritage is also a great concern considering how ISIS is set on wrecking everything that they consider to be against the true Islam (Johnsen 2016:22). Throughout the last few years ISIS has undergone a process of “purifying” the world by killing a tremendous amount of people who they considered to not be true believer and this needs to be

The history of the Holocaust is one that continues to captivate the minds of historians, sociology, political scientist, and popular culture. One of the many lasting legacies that continues to haunt the memories of individuals concerning the Holocaust is the idea that six million people could be exterminated by a “western” modern, capitalist society while the rest of the world stood and watched. Nazi Germany created the environment where Jews and other undesirables such as gays, gypsies, and communist began facing persecution decades before this state-sponsored mass murder campaign, which systematically started in 1941. The Nazis extermination policy that began with pogroms and clear directed violence was recognized and known by other Western counties. One of the most devastating accounts of human rights…

The Islamic State has one goal, to create a New World Order, the caliphate. They want a world system which operates through only the Islamic form of norms and ideals. The same idea is evident in the World State; everyone thinks the same and no one questions it. Likewise, both can only separate people into two groups. In ISIS’ case, it is the believers and the non-believers, seeing the believers as superior and the non-believers as their enemy, anyone in between should either be the killed or forced to pick a side.…

The aftermath of the Paris attacks in France sparked religious conflicts and conflicts between the French and Muslim communities. The Huffington Post reported that animosity towards Muslims in France is on the rise after these bombings in Paris. “Amid longstanding claims from Islamic groups of growing hostility toward Muslims in France, January’s Charlie Hebdo attack caused a spike in anti-Muslim sentiment, with over 55 anti-Muslim incidents and threats reported to police in the weeks immediately following the killings” (Huffington Post). Isis is determined to take control of the world, there main target being the western culture, including their civilization and religious beliefs. Depending on the extremity of the attacks and killings, they are either classified as a genocide if they are more extreme, or questioned if they are not as major. The more extreme attacks and killings, can be proved in many ways as an act of genocide, where other acts are still being questioned. Isis is thought by many as a threat of genocide as other’s think it is just an act of terror.…

The Holocaust, which was the systematic persecution and murder of over six million Jews during World War II, is often cited as one of the worst atrocities committed in the history of human civilization. People speak of it in hushed, mournful voices as they wonder at how the German Nazis could be so malevolent as to annihilate a whole generation of Jews. Hundreds of eminent scholars have eloquently explained the horrific nature of the Holocaust and its effects on the modern world (Gerstenfeld). Yet, it can be said that emphasis should be placed on understanding why Adolf Hitler decided to exterminate so many Jews. Only by looking through the perspective of the Nazis can one begin to understand that the Nazi Party and its leader, Hitler, brutally…

A current issue facing the world today is the threat of ISIS. They recruit their soldiers by social media and have 20,000 soldiers. An action that the people can take is to get our governments to increase our military forces fighting ISIS. I believe this is an answer to this problem because ISIS won't be able to fight all the soldiers that are coming in, and what we are doing right now, apparently isn't enough. We should also ban pro-ISIS statements from social media, because that is the main way they get people to support ISIS.…

All in all, the pure fact that articles addressing these issues have been published regularly for more than three years proves, that using military forces is not the right strategy to fight ISIS. We should slow down and think about what military intervention has caused so far.
