The Islamic Empire: The Rise Of Islam

The Islamic Empire was an empire that was essentially build upon religion. SInce its beginnings in Arabia, the empire eventually spread into the entire Middle East and parts of Asia, North Africa, and parts of Europe. The empire spread so far that at its peak it had more than three times the amount of land it had originally. Surprisingly, in less than 200 years, Isam went from nonexistent to one of the largest empires in the world. This expansion was mainly caused by Muhammed, the last Muslim profit. The Islamic empire expanded because of its influential leaders such as Mohammed who would attempt to enforce the religion upon conquered nations.
Muhammed was the prophet and founder of Islam. He was known as Allah’s (God) messenger. His mission was to proclaim the word of god and spread the Islamic religion. He would accomplish this by speaking highly of the religion, and convincing people that it was in their best interest to become a Muslim. The main highlight of his speeches was the afterlife. Mohammad would use his strength to taunt and threaten the natives of conquered land. However, he would also offer a peaceful alternative. For example, Mohammed told the Christian Arab tribe that if one was to not believe in the Islamic religion they were to pay tribute. If one was to displease the Lord, then Muhammed would fight them, take captive the little ones, and slay the elder. Muslims struck their enemies, laid waste to the country, and took captives at the Battle of Tours showing how harsh Muslims can be if others don't follow their religion or pay tribute.
