“Yes! Oh my God, oh my God, Oh my God! I can’t believe this is finally happening. Three long years of trying,” Tina screamed. Shaking her head in disbelief, she looks at the positive pregnancy test in awe. “Three extremely long years of trying to conceive and now I’m finally pregnant, mom.” Tina’s mom, Canzady had been waiting for the day her daughter would finally give her a grandchild. This would be the first for her as Tina was the only child. She asked Tina, “Are you sure baby?” “Yes, mom, I only took four tests to be sure” Tina said sarcastically. Elated from the news, Canzady asks, “Have you told Juan? Does he know yet? Tina always had irregular menstrual cycles so she didn’t think anything out of the usual until she began to have morning sickness. Two weeks later, Tina had it confirmed by her doctor that she was thirteen weeks pregnant, which meant she was successfully out of her first trimester. So although she told her mom as soon as she took the test, she didn’t care for anyone else to know until she was sure she everything would be fine. Once dinner was prepared it was almost time for Juan to arrive home. She ran him a hot bath and laid out some clothes for him to relax when he got home. She always catered to him. She knew how fortunate she was to have a hard working man. “Baby, I’m home. Damn it smells good in here” he said.
