A character in Animal Farm named Squealer is a character that is resembling the propaganda that was happening during the Russian Revolution. In real the Propaganda isn’t a real life creature like the Propaganda of Animal Farm but a system of actions that can lead to people changing their behavior. According to Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia propaganda is “dissemination of ideas and information for the purpose of inducing or intensifying specific attitudes and actions frequently accompanied by distortions of fact and by appeals to passion and prejudice, the word is often used to refer to information that is false or intentionally misleading.”("Propaganda." Why is it so easy to convince people just by using rhetoric language, or propaganda? In the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, the animals rebelled against Mr. Jones, at first to create an equal society, but slowly the pigs started to gain power, using propaganda and rhetoric language, especially napoleon and squealer. They turned the perfect, equal society into an unequal society, almost coming back to the point when Mr. Jones was here, just with a different leader. The pigs become like humans, drinking alcohol, and change the commandments to “some animals are more equal than other”. I think that Squealer is a very important character in the novel, and that without him, Napoleon and the other pigs wouldn’t have gotten all those privileges.…

Squealer is the only beacon of insight and information that the animals are able to hear, therefore it is the only thing that is possible for them to believe. It warns readers that if there is a total control of everything by the government, then there is no room for any free thought. Orwell also uses rhetoric in his own writing as a motif for the disuasion of communist and fascist idealogy. He uses the negativity of the government portrayed in the book to persuade readers into not accepting communism, which in itself is propaganda for democracy and…

Napoleon didn’t always make it easy for Squealer to seal over his mistakes. “The execution of the traitors this afternoon was the final act. ”(Orwell 88). At this point in Orwell’s Animal Farm Napoleon made by far one of the boldest moves in his time of ruling, in which he calls for a meeting where he claims that many comrades have committed treason. Napoleon then follows up his accusation by using his terrifying attack dogs to scare fake confessions out of the accused, and then he proceeds to order his attack dogs ruthlessly murder the accused.…

Squealer uses his loaded words to trick the animals into believing that they are working for themselves that they are now free so the animals are motivated to work faster and produce more but little do they know the pigs are worse than the humans as Squealer neglects to tell the animals. The intention in this novella was to show that through the miss-use of freedom and manipulation of the animals have proven that the animals are naïve and only want to be free of the humans and have a better life. This proves that the pigs are corrupting the animals and their…

Throughout the allegorical, Animal Farm, the author’s use of particular characters to represent real life political figures is admirable. A debate could be started discussing the significance of a character and their contribution to the overall essence of the novel. But due to the level of engagement of Squealer, a character analysis of this character seems most suitable. Squealer, a pig, is the underdog, the messenger, and the public relations officer. This character, as portrayed by George Orwell, is seen repeatedly handling the relations between the animals without political authority and the “leader”, “the father of all animals”, Napoleon.…

He often twists stories around to make Napoleon seem like a hero. If Napoleon ever does something that the other animals do not like, all it takes is Squealer to convince them that Napoleon is doing the right thing. The animals accept everything that Squealer tells them without trying to make their own mind up. The first example in the book of this is when the animals find out that the milk and apples are being consumed by the pigs, and Squealer tells his comrades, “You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? . . . Milk and apples contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig . . .…
