The Invincible The movie I am going to write about is “Invincible” that was made in 2006. The main character is Vince Papale, played by Mark Wahlberg. The theme this movie uses is a man’s relationship of himself. It takes places during the 1970’s in Philadelphia were serval jobs sites were being shutdown, while the Philadelphia Eagles known as their NFL team is struggling to win a season. The opening scene starts with the Eagles losing yet another season. Right before football season comes along, during 1976 in the spring, Vince Papale was a 30 year old substitute teacher and a bartender. One morning Vince was laid off work as a teacher, and only had a part time job bartending to depend on . The same day, the Eagles had hired a new football coach named Dick Vermeil. In the bar were Vince worked, they watched the T.V. as the Eagles were having public open tryouts. Eagles fans that were inside the bar encouraged Vince to tryout for the team. That same night as Vince returns home , he is left with a home with no wife with a note saying he would be nothing in this word. Few …show more content…
Having no hope in Vince, the team gave him struggles along with some of his coaches. This made Vince a stronger man though, he faced many down moments but was able to fight through it. But once Vince thought he was doing good, another problem would occur like Janet getting upset about a date. Vince was a strong man and was named an invisible man . This movie shows that you don't need anybody in your life to help you succeed, and even though you might have hard times in life, you can still push through and be successful by yourself when no one is there to be supportive of you . This brings a positive message to humanity because you can go from being at the most down part of your life, to something you never though you could

John Carpenters ’s 1982 horror film, The Thing was made as a premise for social commentary on the deterioration of humanity, warning society of the devastating potential of thinking as individuals in isolation rather than a collective. These themes are accentuated through the use of an alien specimen that enters the world of American male scientists based in Antarctica. The alien (or “Thing”) infects living organisms and attempts to take over the human race by ‘imitating’ them, leaving the men in a fight for their own survival as they try to differentiate between “human” and an alien imitation of a human. The term humanity itself is redefined in this film and is stripped to its bare minimum: the mere biological relationship between humans.…
