Persuasive Speech On Vertical Farming

Having been born in the nineties and growing up throughout the two thousands I took a lot of technology for granted, assuming that they have already been around for a while and that it was common for everyone to have these technologies, for example the internet, computers, and video games, but it wasn’t until I was older that I realized how fast technology was advancing, and how much new technology I took for granted as a kid. We see great ideas and new advancements in technology pop up throughout our time growing up, but only to find out it’s going to be obsolete in a few years’ time. When looking forward and hearing about new advances in technology is when I like to think about the great gift modern technology has blessed us with in our lives. …show more content…
What vertical farming is exactly is the practice of growing food in vertical layers stacked on top of each other, or even in vertically inclined surfaces. This has many advantages compared to traditional farming methods, it provides reliable harvests that means there is no such thing as a seasonal crop for vertical farms, there is low energy usage, low labor costs, low water usage, and reduced washing and processing, also maximum crop yield and a wide arrange of crops can be grown, this seems like a no brainer that we should start building more vertical farms, but why need to build vertical farms is just as important. The reason behind vertical farms is that by the year 2050 the population of the world will be estimated to hit around 9 billion people, what this requires is that there needs to be at least 70 percent more good in order to achieve the average consumption of the world. Vertical farms are our solution to this problem. This innovative solution is our gift to our children and our grandchildren so that they can live in a hunger free world, we as a society are constantly looking for ways to help pave a path to a safer, and peaceful world with innovations like vertical farming, I know that the future generations to come will treat each other and the planet with great
