The user interface all started with the invention of the digital computer. Technology very became very popular which later led to bigger expectations in a serious way with interactive timesharing and the graphical user interface. What’s important is to understand the shift that the user interface had; computation – intensive design to presentation – intensive design. In other words, the user experience evolved from plain robot “computation” design to making the presentation of the interface friendlier, effective and mostly simple and easy because that is what us as users feel comfortable with. This shift in user interfaces can be categorized in three eras: first, Batch, second, Command-Line and lastly third, Graphical.

Today in day people have invented Multitouch interaction, OmniTouch and 3D displays with haptic feedback. These are all huge examples of the advancements we have in the user interface of 2014.
