In this camp, Camp 22, there are a total of 50,000 prisoners and the camp has an area of about 500 square miles—the size of Los Angeles.Out of the 50,000 prisoners, it is recorded that 2,000 of them have missing limbs. In addition, 2,000 people die every year from malnutrition in this camp, and the great majority of these people are children. Children are known to live short lives in Camp 22. Compared to the women in the camps, the children might be considered lucky. Women in Camp 22 are raped very often. Every time this happens, the guard responsible for raping the women blames the women for what happened. Usually, the women are sent away to a different area of a camp for a year and them they come back to their original positions. After coming back, the women were described as having burn marks all over their body, and one woman came back missing both of her legs. Everyday, North Korean citizens have their human rights abused by the government. People are treated unfairly and no other countries are doing anything about it. Though this seems cruel for the other countries to not intervene, they shouldn’t because of all the negative effects it can have on North Koreans and Americans. When actually thought about, it seems rude for other countries to not fight North Korea; however, it is the responsibility of individual countries to take care of their citizens before trying to fix other nations
