The internet is a vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide. {Dictionary.com, 2016). This essay will argue that one concern for users of the internet is cyberbullying because of the detrimental effects that victims are forced to endure, resulting in the victim being affected emotionally, mentally and even physically by way of self-harm. Firstly, the essay will begin with an introduction to the internet explaining what it is, how and when it came about and what it is used for. Then it will explain a topic of concern which in this essay will be about cyberbullying, giving a brief description about what it means also what and who Is involved. An explanation on why and how the problem has become a concern and also what is being done to address the problem.

The internet, also known as the net or the world wide web, is the single worldwide computer network that interconnects other computer networks to enable data and other information to be exchanged. For example, the internet was first introduced in the 1960s and was mainly being used by governmental departments such as the US Defence as a form of communication and collecting data before becoming widely accessible by the 1990s. {Dictionary.co, 2016). The internet started off with a dial up connection and over the years has ungraded from dial up to wireless connection and is now available literally anywhere that is within range of a cell phone tower or phone jack.
