In the past 25 years the internet has revolutionised the world in many different ways and it has changed the way the world works. The internet was first publically available on August 6th 1991 globally. The world wide web was created by a man called Tim Berners-Lee this allowed things like computers to be further developed he was an English computer scientist and specialised in things like the invention of the internet and believed that the internet would revolutionise and change the world and that it would keep changing the world in the future. In an internet article Berners-Lee, T (2009) stated “The Web as I envisaged it, we have not seen it yet. The future is still so much bigger than the past”. This is a quote from a well written article by a professional who is a professor at a University for International studies this makes the source more reliable. This is because technology has made them able to communicate from different sides of the world so communication and the information is quickly passed on and can have a quicker affect. The impact of this is that businesses can expand their market and invest in new foreign markets to boost the local economy there and to make more profit for the business this has created good links between countries for trade and investments. By businesses expanding it allows countries to develop more and have new markets it especially helps developing countries as it invests money into their economy to increases the businesses sales and provides more jobs and the individuals who gain new skills from gaining jobs will then become more employable. This is because businesses can work quicker and produce more so they expand into new economies and countries. In China it his lead to major economic growth by allowing companies to produce products faster to increase the capital and to improve their economy “increased Internet adoption could add 60 billion to 1.2 trillion renminbi (about $10 billion to $190 billion) in GDP to individual sectors by 2025. About one-third of these gains will come from the creation of entirely new markets”. (January 2015 Yougang Chen, Jeongmin Seong and Jonothan Woetzel). It has allowed China to expand and enter new markets and will continue to expand due to the Internet allowing the economy to improve even more increasing their GDP. The impact of this is that the developments have allowed new aspects of business and the economy to be developed. The most important aspect of new machinery is it means there are less jobs for people which can lead to a higher trend of unemployment, because machines are now being invented to do these exact same jobs faster due to technology and the internet developments.
