I always wondered, what did the generation before us do without the internet? I know for a fact and experience I can 't live without the internet and the good and the bad that comes with it. The internet is a collection of websites and services. Fifty years ago the Internet came into existence, it has extremely changed our life from the second we wake up to until we go back to sleep. Around three billion people use the Internet. It was only in the 1990s that Internet was provided to the public. Countries like China, United States, and India have the largest number of internet users. We can connect more to people around the world and have easy access. Messages sent over the Internet can be simply tracked, showing who you are talking to and the time also what you are talking about. Also, people who are surfing the internet they are continuously giving personal information to websites. People should really pay close attention to the information they provide the person behind the phone or computer screen because it can always fall into the wrong hands. When giving out personal information on the website people should make sure the website is protected with a security symbol. This doesn 't mean these websites are fully protected because there are people out there who can hack websites and find people’s personal information. Commonly, the most common crimes are frauds.
Even with all the disadvantages of the internet there are even more advantages. The most common thing the Internet is used for research. From homework research to scientific research, the internet didn 't make us look bad not even once. Students are among the highest group of people who used the Internet for research. People can communicate with each other overseas. The Internet has a major effect on me. Having an Internet gave me the opportunity to connect with my friends and family before I had a phone. It gave me the chance to connect with others and share pictures, thoughts, and ideas. With the majority of my family living thousands of miles away, The Internet has made it beyond easy to stay in touch. With just a few clicks I was able to communicate and know what is going on there even though I was so far away.
