This paper describes about the notion of Free Wi-Fi in New York City, which is called LinkNYC and elaborates the system in terms of its network configuration. The network diagram will be provided to illustrate the overall system. Moreover, identifying the cost associates in this project. This system will replace 6,400 antiquated payphones on the street, instead installing high tech kiosks where people can not only access free Wi-Fi, but also charge their phone, make domestic calls and video chat for free. Consequently, in this paper, I will bring the notion of free Wi-Fi in New York City to describe its network configuration and identify how cost associated with this system. Consequently, this is an opportunity of mobile phone companies, which support for this project for example, Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile, have more channel for advertisements of their own promotion or new innovation. Moreover, another objective of this project is that to provide the Internet to needy people, who cannot afford to pay for high cost of network (LinkNYC benefits outweigh costs, 2014). This implies that Mobile phone companies will have more potentials to provide a service for people who have lower income or find new customers especially in a low income
