The principal has committed a serious offense against the integrity of the school. His actions are, without a doubt, wrong because the principal has shown disregard for his values and ignored his conscience. So far, Grace has searched out the facts. She knows the action, which is the principal inflating the grades, and the motive, which is to make the athlete eligible to help the team. Next, she needs to think of alternatives. She could call out the principal for his actions, adjust the grade herself, report the principal’s wrongdoing, or do nothing. Even though she will not be supported by others in her actions, making sure the athlete does not play and upholding the integrity of the school should be her actions, because if she does nothing, there will be serious consequences. …show more content…
If nothing is done and the star athlete plays, where is the line drawn? Does this apply to all athletes on every level? Does everyone get this grade inflation? Even if this may seem innocent, it could be stretched too far and have much worse consequences. It may be one game, but losing the integrity and honesty of the school is not worth it. Also, the student needs to learn that an education is his top priority. He is a student-athlete, where his grades come first and his athletic abilities come second. Grace’s most likely action should be to report the principal for his wrongdoing and change the grade back to what it originally
