Deborah has taken steps to improve her accuracy in her daily entry. She takes any mistake personally and strives to complete her tasks error free. Even though the results were higher than the goal, the results were influenced by a change in our processing of freight which caused these records to be created in Image Now much earlier than before even though no invoice was available for processing. This added 15 to 25 days of processing time from creation of the record to confirmation in M2M.…
The Trials and Tribulations of Opening a Deli: A Profile of Liz Pedone Driving on Interstate 78 can be a hassle; between all the traffic going to New York City and cars not using their turn signals, it will be easy to miss the highway exit for the quaint town of Emmaus. Emmaus prides itself with its tight-knit community, and welcomes everything, including small businesses. One of these small businesses just opened in Emmaus’ town square; Pedone’s Deli. The owner of the deli is fifty-three year old Liz Pedone, originally from the middle of Long Island.…
It was Ashley’s first day working at The Silver Diner. She was feeling like she was going to throw up anytime soon because she was so nervous. Ashley had an odd personality. She has been known at other jobs for being late to work, disorganized, and very clumsy. She was so short that people sometimes didn’t see her and would trip over her.…
During heavy wind storms, Coastal Hwy, or Rt.1, can become covered in ocean water. Where buildings don’t hinder the path from the ocean, sand blows across the road creating slick and treacherous driving conditions. Traveling north and seeing the various little towns that make up the coast of this peninsula: OC, Fenwick, South Bethany, across the Indian River bridge, through Dewey Beach and finally into Rehoboth. At just before 6:00am, I enter the property and drive around back to the project trailer, park and with briefcase in hand, I walk into the office.…
In our daily lives we have events, distractions, or daily activities that affect our attitudes. These events can and do create stress. George and Jones write, “What happens to employees off the job can affect their attitudes, behaviors, and performance on the job as well as their own well-being.” (p. 252). This essay will discuss major and minor life events and how they are a source of personal stress.…
The family had left the house excited and prepared for a day at the lake. The sun had yet to peak over the horizon as the family began the steep ascent to the campground lake. The children began to slowly brighten up with the realization of an approaching adventure. The father continued to stress over the amount of work he was falling behind on. This long weekend may seem to fly by for the kids but it was going to drag on for him.…
“Fat Four only, go find something else to do” we told our other siblings. The Fat Four included the two oldest from each family my two cousins Nora and Mary Felicia, my sister Rosalina, and I. “What if we want to be apart of the Fat Four?” my other sister Michaela complained. It is a tradition that the third oldests of the family's, Michaela and Katrina try and get into the Fat Four.…
John used to live in a small secluded cottage located in a rural countryside. But now, he has just moved into New York City and has difficulty adapting to a new city lifestyle. Part of the reason why he has difficulty transitioning himself is because he lacked his rules of etiquette (he never really needed it since he was secluded from others). Luckily, he has just found himself to be the winner of a sponsorship ticket. This ticket promotes him to help out the mayor of New York City for three days, with a large amount of salary being paid.…
All things considered, today was, to abridge, tiring. What's more, miserable. I stay here, writing in this diary at the foot of Jem's bed, viewing over him as he dozes, his rest gradually helping his arm to recuperate, now that Dr. Reynolds has gauzed it. Thinking back judiciously and sensibly, I feel no lament for my activities - in helping Tom Robinson, or in the way I've brought up my youngsters - I just feel an unfolding compassion and disillusionment for the man who had, looking in context, began this entire emergency.…
The hazy feeling of staying awake for an entire day settled in my body. As the early flickers of sunlight shone through the grand windows of the studio, I was able to look down at my work and appreciate the beauty of it. Perhaps it was the several shots of espresso, or the feeling of adrenaline but I was able to complete my first Architectural project. Just like most of my summer, I spent hours using my lead holder to perfect each line in my plans and sections and I sharpening my pencil much too often to make sure that each line was crisp and that my line weight was exceptional.…
Venturing off-campus to the nearby Dutterer Family Park, I was despondent. Perhaps it was because I was thinking about how and when I was going to complete this assignment or maybe it was that I was missing home. Whatever the case, I was melancholy. Upon arrival, I sat myself on a nearby wooden bench, took out the assignment sheet, the photo mat, a piece of paper, and a pencil. Still feeling gloomy, I closed my eyes and took a few minutes to clear my mind.…
“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…
This week was not as busy because Monday was a professional development day. During this time I was able to learn how to collaborate with others. This was beneficial to me as this is something you need to know about in everyday life. We read an article on how to improve this and we then worked together to write down key points. On Friday, it was completely different.…
It was a late night at the funeral home, but Jackie insisted on staying behind to finish embalming the local restaurant owner killed in a robbery two days ago. She was the last person left at the funeral home, so it was quiet. She could focus on her work, do the paperwork, and get home before 9:00 pm with any luck. As she began to do her work, she heard a noise.…
Slowly, I was slipping into the new routine. Well, the week-day routine. I was starting to fear the weekend one because I heard stories of all these bad things happening to personal assistants and I was starting to get scared. But in other news, the Gleeful's got another slave. '…
