Within the first few moments of the "The Shadow of Hate," it began with a parade of white hooded individuals expressing their hate against other races. Right from the start, I assumed this 40-minute documentary was going to pertain to the KKK, and their reign of terror on African Americans. Movies that related to my assumptions of what this video was going to withhold were; Glory Road, Coach Carter, and Remember the Titans. Prejudice and discrimination between whites and blacks was the major issue in society. But as the video continued, it appeared to display more than just racism between blacks and whites, but all races.…

Many of us are out of touch with our fellow citizen's hardships and do not acknowledge the lack of opportunity that exists for some of the least privileged members of our communities and fails to recognize the great adversity they face. There should be more federal anti-discrimination laws to protect the civil rights of all transgender people especially in public settings such as schools, athletics, and employment. Today many young transgender men and women face debilitating discrimination on a daily basis at all levels and sectors of life. For many of them, the disparaging and hateful discrimination can start at a young age in school and haunt them into their adulthood when seeking employment even when they are just as or more qualified as…

Gay love has been an issue for the longest now and it’s beginning to get out of hand. But that’s not the only thing that’s getting out of hand, what also is getting out of hand is societies view on those who are transgender. Which brought to my attention that some people are so reluctant to change that they resort violence and brute force in order to shape things into their image whenever something that they say is wrong starts to occur. They are only interested and care about what they want to see is “right” day to day. The way we approach people who are gay or transgender is outright ridiculous and ignorant which can easily be added to the millions of other situations where ignorance has occurred in history.…
