The Influence Of Poseidon's Behavior

Poseidon is the god of the sea who had created Atlantis, a once peaceful city. Poseidon had laws for the citizens of Atlantis to make sure there was peace throughout the city. His chief commandment required that no person should take up arms against another. In addition, Poseidon would set a curse on anyone who disobeyed this. The citizens’ change of behavior make a turn of events, as well as a moral for the readers.

To start off, the citizens' behavior had changed. As time passed, the godlike parts of the citizens’ souls had faded away. As a result, their human natures took over, and the citizens became greedy and hateful. This is in the text, (paragraph 17), where it's stated “The people of Atlantis began to change. Slowly, very
