Everyday nurses talk to their patients about all of the ways they can modify their lives in order to be healthier and stay out of the hospital. However, nurses are not good at taking their own advice. They are some of the unhealthiest people. Throughout school nurses are trained to give the best care possible to all of their patients, even if that meant no lunch that day. There are so many ways that nurses do not take care of their bodies and some of these may be a shock. I will discuss some of the ways such as not eating healthy or just not eating at all, stress and its effects on the body, and posture issues. All of the articles represented in this writing talk about a different aspect of reducing stress or ways that nurses handle stress. Donovan, Doody, and Lyons (2013), found that nurses expressed unhappiness regarding lack of independence and used an avoidance approach while handling these situations. They also found that coronary heart disease is prevalent in high stress jobs where they cannot control the speed, nature, or conditions of their jobs. Stress can also lead to drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, and sleeping disorders. Happell et al. However there are many ways to control back pain and prevent it from happening to the newer nurses. Jaromi et al. (2012) completed research on a Back School. This school provided passive physiotherapy once a week for a 6 week period. There was also a theory part of the school that taught the nurses many things such as anatomy and body mechanics, proper body posture, back safety, lifting techniques, and more. Afterwards all the participants had follow up appointments with the nurse. They studied pain intensity and body posture. The pain intensity was examined with the visual analogue scale and body posture was noted with the Zebris biomechanical motion analysis
