Kamehameha was an effective leader, because he was smart, cared about his people and the land, and made and kept good relationships and strong allies. Kamehameha was able to unify and create a strong kingdom for the Hawaiians. He also made decisions that would make it easier for his descendants to rule the islands. He was able to make strong decisions that kept the hawaiians safe, therefore helping to protect them afe his death. He helped the Hawaiians become more involved in trade, which impacted us today. It impacted us today because a lot of the things that we use or eat everyday in Hawaii probably came from other places that the Hawaiians traded for.
